Therapy for Work Stress

Online counselling for work stress, toxic workplaces and job pressure. Practical support for professionals, scheduled around working hours.

For many working adults, the largest single source of distress is not a diagnosable condition. It is where they spend fifty hours a week.

Signs you might recognise

You do not need to identify with all of these. Even a few is reason enough to talk to someone.

Sunday evening dread that arrives earlier each week
Checking email at midnight and on holiday
Feeling replaceable, invisible or constantly evaluated
A manager whose mood dictates your week
Physical symptoms that improve on leave and return within days
Comparing your progress obsessively with peers
Considering quitting weekly without a plan
Taking work frustration home to family

Why this happens

Workplace stress rises sharply where demand is high and control is low — a combination well established in occupational health research. Indian workplaces frequently add long commutes, unclear role boundaries, hierarchical communication that discourages pushback, and, since remote work became widespread, an expectation of near-constant availability. The result is a sustained load with few socially acceptable ways to decline any part of it.

How therapy helps

What the work actually involves, session by session.

1

Distinguishing you from the environment

An important early step: separating what is a genuinely unreasonable workplace from what is your own pattern of over-functioning.

2

Practical boundary scripts

Specific wording for pushing back on scope, deadlines and after-hours contact without damaging your standing.

3

Managing difficult managers and colleagues

Understanding the dynamic and rehearsing responses reduces both the stress and the rumination afterwards.

4

Career decisions with clarity

If leaving is the right answer, therapy helps you get there deliberately rather than in a burnout crisis.

Frequently asked questions

Will therapy just tell me to quit?
No. Most work stress is resolved within the existing role. Therapy helps you evaluate the situation properly rather than making the decision for you.
Can I book sessions outside office hours?
Yes. Early morning and evening slots are available, and online sessions remove commute time entirely.
Will my employer know?
No. Sessions booked privately are confidential and independent of your workplace.
Does this cover workplace harassment or bullying?
Yes, therapeutically. Your therapist can support you emotionally and help you think through options, though formal complaints and legal steps sit outside a therapist's remit.
